Esta semana en Lababuch ha sido una experiencia extraordinaria que no voy a olvidar. Una maravillosa convivencia en un lugar encantador. Clara e Israel hacen todo para que nos sintamos una familia. He aprendido mucho, tanto de fotografía como de humanidad en esta casa. Mil gracias a vosotros, y a Ray y Adrianna. Hasta pronto espero.
As someone who lives and works in an isolated rural area it’s been amazing to meet and work alongside likeminded people for a few days in the same space. We were lucky to have two very talented workshop leaders, Raymond Meeks and Adrianna Ault, who helped us hugely to view our projects with fresh eyes. I loved everything about this experience and will carry very special memories. Israel and Clara have created a really unique space for creativity. In the end it felt like we were all an extended family and I think we all came out of this workshop with valuable feedback. It was also a huge honour to meet Gabriela Cendoya-Bergareche and all the books she brought with her. I hope I can return one day.
Ce fut une magnifique aventure pour créer une maquette d’un livre de photographies avec une narration. Apprendre à lire un livre de photographie, éditer ses photographies comme on apprend à écrire, mettre en forme une maquette pour proposer un récit étaient autant d’étapes à franchir. J’ai été guidé sur ce chemin par une extraordinaire équipe : Israel, Clara, Chiara et Enric. Je reviens avec cette maquette, une vision enrichie de ma pratique photographique, mais aussi avec le souvenir d’avoir passé des moments magiques de travail, de partage et d’amitié avec des photographes venus de tout horizon. C’était une vraie résidence dans une très belle campagne, l’idéal pour se promener et se ressourcer. La Babuch est un lieu où je me suis senti accueilli. Je n’ai qu’un souhait: y revenir au plus vite pour poursuivre mon aventure photographique. Merci à tous !
Cuando me anoté en el Taller de Narrativa pensé: ojalá vuelva con la maqueta del fotolibro con el que tantas vueltas estoy dando. Y volví con la maqueta. Feliz con mi maqueta. Pero no solo volví con la maqueta, volví con el corazón lleno de nuevos amigos, lleno de momentos atesorables, de risas, de complicidad, de paseos preciosos por los alrededores de La Babuch. Chiara, Enric, Clara e Israel fueron los guías perfectos para llevar adelante el taller, con un excelente balance entre los momentos de clases y de tiempo de trabajo, con la mirada experta y comprometida. Una experiencia inmersiva que solo se consigue en este tipo de retiros. Clara e Israel son anfitriones de lujo en un entorno insuperable para la creatividad. Espero volver pronto!
Que decir de LaBabuch? Llamarlo taller es muy banal porque LaBabuch no es solamente un taller de fotografia, es una experiencia de vida donde puedes encontrar personas especiales, muy buenas comidas y momentos de relax.
Israel y Clara son dos personas muy disponibles y muy raras, soy muy feliz de conocerlos.

En una Ocasión Eduardo Momeñe me dijo que lo único que le pedía a un taller o una exposición era salir un poco mas inteligente que al entrar. No se si he salido mas inteligente al salir de Lababuch, lo que si os puedo garantizar es que he salido con más conocimientos y más ganas de poner en practica todo lo que he sido capaz de aprender.

Every time I remember lababuch (many times) a smile comes to my face. A dream. An essential life experience to grow. It’s amazing how Clara and Israel make everything fit. I don’t forget the laughs, the shared, what I learned from others, the people I hope to see again. And waiting for the time to pass to return.
I left with a heart full to the brim and already eager to return. The workshop, the hospitality of Clara and Israel, the words and silences shared with the people I have just met, the walks in the forest and the starry summer nights, everything was simply glorious. Learning, discovering, sharing, living, one merged perfectly into the other and the result was both useful and enchanting. Thank you very much!
The workshop with Vanessa and George was a unique experience: a week full of photographic intensity with likeminded people, very enriching both photographically and on a human level! Lababuch is a great place in the «middle» of rural France, brought to life by the welcoming hosts Clara and Israel.
A place full of magic in every corner where photography flows slowly and without limits.
A wonderful experience to let yourself go, to be inspired and to grow. One of those weeks that you never want to end.

I took part at the wet collodion, albumen printing and daguerreotype workshop with Joaquín Paredes.
Just by writing the title you can imagine how many things there were to do! It has been seven intense and beautiful days during which photography was the absolute protagonist of everyone’s actions, words and thoughts, certainly of mine. Clara and Israel have created this beautiful space that brings together and nourish (literally and metaphorically) people who share a love, a space that creates exchanges and bonds and is one of a kind.
It was a precious experience.
I can not wait to come back!

When I registered for a workshop with Vanessa Winship and George Georgiou at LaBabuch, I had no idea what to expect. I’d looked at some of the social media pictures of LaBabuch beforehand and had seen what looked like a little farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. When I arrived at LaBabuch, I indeed felt that I’d arrived in the middle of nowhere… However, with so much going on right away, and so many wonderful, positive vibes, I was immediately entranced by the place and the beautiful surrounding nature, but above all by the warmth and hospitality of its inhabitants/hosts, Israel and Clara. The workshop was just an incredible overall experience, on so many levels. The whole week was amazing: extremely varied, quite intense, but a lot of fun too! I was surrounded by a group of exceptionally talented and diverse photographers, who all became good friends. The week just seemed to fly by. The food (home cooked, always fresh, and very varied) was excellent. Vanessa and George are incredible, both as teachers and human beings. I got an immense boost to my photography project, and had the most wonderful time photographing various things, places and people in the vicinity. All in all, it was a beautiful and yes, magical experience. Thank you, Israel and Clara, for your kindness and hospitality! You’ve created a one of a kind place!
I was fortunate enough to have participated in the workshop with Vanessa Winship and George Georgiou. It was a magical week, in a very special location, far away from reality. Filled with so many wonderful and talented people. All enjoying one another’s way of seeing. It was a visual feast with so many beautiful books, amazing light and such delicious food. Work was made, presented and discussed. Long term projects were given direction and a boost. Lots of growth. The workshop was better than what I could have imagined. Thank you Israel and Clara for opening up LaBabuch to us all.
I had a wonderful experience at La Babuch. I was very lucky to be able to participate in two workshops this summer, one with Juanan Requena and the other one with Vanessa Winship and George Georgiu. Both of them were very special and magic. I learned a lot. I met amazing and very talented people. We had a great time. Thank you Clara and Israel for organizing these exxellent workshops, thank you Juanan, Vanessa and George for showing us your work, teaching, helping and supporting all of us. Sinceramente Labauch no es algo que una pueda explicar es algo que se tiene que vivir, que tienes que dejar que te enseñé y dejarte llevar.
Para mí ha sido una liberación en todos los sentidos.

Trabajar en LaBabuch fue una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en los últimos años, tanto a nivel humano como artístico.
La posibilidad de inmersión total en el trabajo, cada vez más difícil de encontrar, y la generosidad del lugar y de todo el equipo, hacen LaBabuch un oasis, un lugar donde el proceso creativo es el verdadero protagonista.
Según el diccionario de las emociones ( ese que abres al emprender la vuelta a casa o el que escribes cuando no deseas que algo termine ) vivir y formar parte de LABABUCH sería lo más cercano a la felicidad real : aquella que construye, engancha y mueve los más bellos resortes del alma. La que te deja marcas en la piel de tanta sonrisa y tanta complicidad.
La que ya jamás olvidas.
La Babuch me cambió la vida.
Creo que eso lo resume todo. Es un no-lugar, no-tiempo mágico gestionado por gente mágica. Cada uno encuentra allá justo lo que necesitaba, fuera o no consciente de esa búsqueda.
Es un lugar de potenciales que se desatan.

Días para hacer poco y deshacer mucho, días para pensar nada y repensar todo.
Horas para querer y sentirse querido, horas mágicas a todas horas.
La siembra en tiempos de cosecha.
La Babuch.
Un alto en el camino. Respirar en medio de campos de trigo. Entre senderos de tierra y árboles de cuento, entre ovejas y el cantar de los pájaros. Caminando, charlando y comiendo moras, sin darte cuenta te hallas a orillas de un riachuelo con aguas cristalinas.
La fotografía como música de fondo. La vives, la descubres, la piensas y la compartes.
La Babuch como un claro en el bosque. Un espacio de encuentros. Encuentros contigo misma, con los otros y con tus otros. Donde se hablan de cosas que no son cosas y de personas que no son los otros. Un territorio de exploración, cuidados, aprendizaje compartido y familiaridades tan poco comunes como agradecidas.
Anocheceres ante el fuego, paseos de luna llena, un mosaico de Polaroids. Momentos que calan y te atraviesan. Te hacen sentir parte de ese todo que pocas veces se deja intuir.
He pensado mucho qué escribir en este libro de visitas de mis queridos Israel y Clara.
Y, no sé, creo que lo más conciso que puedo decir es que La Babuch es droga dura.
Puntualizando: de la que remueve, de la que te ayuda a conocerte a ti mismo, a crecer, a cambiar, a compartir… fotográfica y personalmente. De la que hace bien. Pero de la que engancha, eso sí!… mucho!!
La Babuch ha sido una de las mejores experiencias fotográficas y vitales que he tenido, con ponentes y organizadores de una gran calidad artística y humana y unos compañeros excelentes que hicieron que el taller fuese inolvidable.
La tengo muy presente y para mi es un refugio de paz y creatividad que seguro disfrutaré en futuros talleres.
Venir a La Babuch es abrir una nueva puerta secreta. Un alto en el camino para respirar y pensar. Precioso momento para crear y recrear compartiendo. Un trampolín hacia otras maneras de concebir la fotografía de la mano de personas maravillosas.
Una preciosa experiencia vital disfrazada de taller fotográfico en La Babuchonière, lugar acogedor en un marco idílico y sensorial. Nuevas estrellas se iluminan en la noche….

La estancia en Lababuch fue estupenda, ademas de por las caracteristicas del espacio y entorno, sobre todo, por la calidad humana y artistica del grupo que se hizo equipo dia a dia y juntos crecimos por fuera y sobre todo por dentro desde entonces y hasta ahora y seguirá…hasta el infinito y más allá.
